Lee Harper-Edwards

Designer / Fabricator

I have always had an interest in how things work, and as a child was constantly taking things apart and putting them back together again, I also enjoyed art, constantly doing drawings of characters and photographs. A career in the Navy maintaining fighter jets, then building satellites, becoming a plumber before finally settling into teaching engineering, allowed me to develop my interests into the world of welding and metal art.
I use a variety of materials from nuts, bolts and washers to engineering components and scrap metal. Always on the look out for items I can use such as cutlery, old tools, spanners / hammers etc., horseshoes - in fact anything made of iron or steel is perfect to incorporate into my art.
I will often think of new ideas to do, but my favourite is when I get personalised requests for something very particular, or to incorporate something from a loved one into a particular piece, all ideas considered and discussed with the client to get just the right piece.
If there is something you would like, or wish to discuss a bespoke piece, please get in touch and I will do all I can to make it a reality.
